trace

trace's favorite things (in no particular order) (compiled by mother)

-bathtime (with lots of bubbles; 'pao pao' in chinese)

trace was most definately well taken care of before he joined us, and was not malnurished in any way (infact, he came with food). nonetheless, he has put on five pounds (so he is now 40) since joining us. i think this might be due to cheetos and ice cream :). but he eats a lot of healthy fruit (apples, bananas, grapes) and veggies (spinach, cauliflower, salad, broccoli, carrots, whatever we put in front of him), too. i think his unlimited snacking days might be numbered. at any rate, he is going to be big one day, probably at least 6 feet tall. if both he and jade follow their growth charts, he will be over a foot and 100 pounds bigger than jade.
today was immunization day :(. because of his heart defect, he had never had any shots, so he had to get 4 in one sitting. i was not there, but mother said it went just like she thought it would. she said they had an efficient nurse though, who got it over with in a minimal amount of time.
right now jade & trace are playing together in the kitchen with cupcake papers and old birthday cake candles. sounds like they are having a good time.
trace is starting to repeat us when we say things (so he has picked up some good 'fight' words from jade, as i am certain you can imagine). he is also learning to count in english (he can in chinese, too). he also says thank you at the appropriate times which is basically the cutest thing ever... we get used to hearing him speak in chinese, but to hear him speak english is, well, different :). he is doing well at understanding us, he defiantely knows 'go sleepy', 'go bye-bye' and most importantly 'eat' :).
